Doors open, people get off, THEN you get on…it ain’t hard folks. I am sick to death of being rushed by people clambering to get onto the elevator at work or the Canada Line without letting people out first. Were you raised in a barn?

The old rules are slowly dying unfortunately.
* Please walk on the right.
* Please don't cut in front of me .
AND when driving:
* ALWAYS signal when making a turn no matter what your vehicle (car, bike, snowplow, horse, etc), or how OBVIOUS you think it is that you must be turning, other people DON'T want to have to guess and they DO need instant information about what you're doing. I don't even give a crap if you're in a designated left turn only lane or turning right -- just do it you idiots! ALWAYS! Then you don't need to ask your idiot self "do I need to bother to signal now?". Yes! Yes, you do, ALL the time!
* DON'T enter an intersection after the light has turned yellow unless you have NO choice. It is practically a given that you'll be stuck waiting to make a left until everyone that wants to speed through an intersection at the last second has gone through. You do NOT speed up with the intention of making it through a yellow! That is exactly the opposite of the meaning of this light.
Oh, and slow the hell down too.
Speed limits in Vancouver (and everywhere in BC) are 50 on all streets unless otherwise posted.
Even though it may be legal to drive at 50 on side streets there are practically none large enough to safely do anything over 30, which is coincidentally the posted speed limit most people always ignore when passing playgrounds and schools during daylight hours.
And driving over the downtown bridges at 70, 90, or 110 (the posted limit is 60 for some stupid reason, but that's another rant) is only going to shave a few seconds off your trip.
